A Textual Problem

It is really scary how many people I see talking on their cell phones while driving these days. As I’ve always said, “The only number anyone should ever dial on their cell phones while driving is 911.” However, if that isn’t bad enough, I recently read that quite a few people are texting on their cells while driving! Yikes! Texting with a cell phone has always puzzled me. Why would someone go to all the trouble of typing text using those microscopic sized keys when they could just call or leave a voice mail? Another thing I’ve noticed, that I believe that is due to texting, is the proliferation of people who post messages on newsgroups, etc. in all lowercase letters with no punctuation. I fear that the present generation will cause the extinction of capital letters, commas, periods, question marks, etc. I just can not imagine a world without punctuation. Now that I have stated this, please do not send me comments or email in all lower case letters with no punctuation. My standing rule is to delete any comments that are in all lower case and not punctuated. Yeah, I guess I’m starting to get a little testy in my old age. The main reason is that I suddenly realized that I will receive my Golden Buckeye Card this December, so cut this “soon to be senior citizen” who is “flirting” with 60 some slack will you!
