Every year we have beehives from spring to fall. The reason for this is that the truck crops we plant need bees to pollinate them. I have never liked bees and am always afraid of being stung. The beekeeper always tells us that they won't bother anyone. This year he put the hives at the corner of my yard. I am right in the flight path of them! Last year I was innocently walking past them on the way to feed the horses and cats. All of a sudden, without warning, a bee hit me in the forehead and I received a nasty sting. Well, so much for not being bothered! As much as I like squash, cucumbers, etc., I'm starting to wonder if its worth being bushwhacked by sadistic bees. Heck, I don't even care for honey. I've been taking a different route to the barn this year and so far have avoided any kamikaze bee attacks. So far so good, but each day I am on my guard! Notice the picture of this year's beehives. I took this picture with my telescopic lens. Why press my luck! Maybe the bees are allergic to me this year because whenever I get too close to them, they breakout in "hives". Whoops, I haven't taken my morning meds yet. Does it show??? :-)
